pastor's thots

Expectations! Expectations can be harmful to your health. We all have expectations. Expectations of fellow voters, expectations of our government, of church, co-workers, church members, friends, family, and neighbors. The problem is expectations usually aren’t communicated or negotiated. Most people don’t know what your expectations of them are as a result they don’t know when they fail to meet them. As a pastor and fellow human being, I have expectations that are always met. When something is borrowed, that it gets returned in a timely fashion in the same condition. When something gets broken, it gets reported and fixed. For people to take pride in the facility they use. For everyone to share the work load. It would be hard to tell you how many times my expectations aren’t met. It might not be too difficult to tell you how many times they are met. The big questions I face daily is what will I do about un-met expectations? How can I honor Jesus as I think the thought I am thinking?
